She is water
Water and woman are two inseparable entities. The aquatic element is usually associated with the feminine spirit and principles, as well as the maternal principle. It is feminine due to its flow, sensuality and waviness, and maternal due to its warmness, swing and protection. It’s a complex substance with which we can experience the
most profound joy and at the same time, the
most profound despair. In many ancient
societies goddesses were born from the sea, such as the Greek Aphrodite, the Egyptian Isis and the Summerian Nammu. Water is life giving, it purifies, cleanses, carries us, sways us, and is therefore portrayed and equated with the feminine acts of creation, nature and spirituality.
“she is water
soft enough to offer life
tough enough to drown it away”
